Ms. Joyce was Casey’s first private music teacher. It has been 9 years since Casey started piano lesson with her. She not only taught Casey skills of playing piano, she also let him enjoy playing music and helped him build a very solid foundation in music learning. From the very beginning, Ms. Joyce added music theory and ear training in every lesson in a very enjoyable way. She could always find some fun books and materials for Casey to study with. Two and a half years later, when Casey was 8, he passed the ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory Exam with Distinction. And he found it fun in studying music, including the theory.
Ms. Joyce is a great teacher who fully supports her students to get to where they want to be. She encouraged Casey to participate music competitions, which helped him keep making progress and gain confidence in performing in public. She got opportunities for students to perform at concert halls and shopping malls, to have master classes with renowned pianists and to attend music trips to Europe. The trip to Germany had been one of the best summer experiences for Casey. When Casey considered studying clarinet at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, he had support from Ms. Joyce as always, and he successfully auditioned for beginner of clarinet major by playing piano.After Casey got in the HKAPA, his schedule became more tight, but he was so lucky to have Joyce’s continuing help and instruction. When Casey decided to take both clarinet and piano grade 8 exam within a few months, Ms. Joyce gave him so much support with the aural test part (theory and ear training) as well as the piano recital, even though at the time she herself was busy and carrying her twin babies.
This fall Casey is going to U.S. for high school, and he got admission to the pre-college division of The Juilliard School. He remembered when he took the music theory and ear training test at Juilliard, the head of the pre-college division told him that he had very good ear training. From all our sincerity, we would like to say Thank You to Ms. Joyce, for her professional guidance and training, as well as the encouragement,support and help she has given Casey in all these years-So much appreciated!

Ms Chan has been my piano teacher ever since I was five years old, she started teaching me at JMC until she progressed and opened her own studio. She has taught me and helped improve my fundamentals, theory, technique, and many other skills. Through out my experience at her studio, she has been very supportive and accommodating to what I want to play. From Classical to Jazz and even contemporary music. She has supported and guided me through exams, competition, and projects of my own. She has also given me the opportunity to perform in many different environments with many other musicians. She has made me more confident by giving me the experience to perform at shopping centres and auditoriums all over Hong Kong. I have also been blessed with the opportunity to participate in many different workshops both locally and internationally. These workshops let me experience different styles of music beyond the traditional exam and helped me with other skills like chord identification, improvisation, and ear strengthening. I participated in the music workshop located in Germany at the age of seven. Experiences like this is what brought me to my love for music. Being able to work with so many musicians and instructors really influenced me in a way to want to push myself forward and it was an unforgettable experience. I am very thankful to be a part of a well rounded, supportive, and motivating studio.

My two sons have been learning piano with Miss Chan since early 2018. Miss Chan is a talented pianist with effective teaching skills.
My sons have certainly improved a lot particularly in piano posture and other techniques. There are two grand pianos in her studio. During lessons, Miss Chan uses one of the piano to teach and demonstrate while my son uses the other piano to learn and practice. This is definitely a very effective way to learn.
Thanks for Miss Chan’s encouraging teaching style, piano lessons are always enjoyable for my sons. She never makes them feel bad about mistakes. They often play and practise piano with pleasure at home.
Miss Chan has a heart to see her students grow. When we prepared for the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, she gave a lot of support to my sons. My elder son was awarded the 1st Runner-up in piano competition of the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival 2018. In addition, with her excellent piano accompaniment, my son won the 2nd Runner-up in Saxophone competition of the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival 2019.
I am so happy to have Miss Chan as my sons’ piano teacher. Her guidance and support to my sons are greatly appreciated.

心儀樂坊的老師們都認真教學。
在鋼琴的課堂裡，老師總會提供很有效的方法和小秘訣。有效提升技巧。
在考試的預備時，除了清晰教授音階，琶音的技巧外，老師會要求我定期交錄音，並告知我如何改進。亦會陪我去考試場地試琴。
在聲樂課堂方面，老師提供中西方的聲樂作品，備課認真。老師十分清楚我的强項和有待改善的地方。而八級樂理方面，
老師熱心提供精要的筆記，和有效的小秘訣，著重理解。每當有問題，亦會耐心解答。
